I have been playing chess for almost a decade and am currently an active USCF rated 1700+ player. My road to 1700 hasn’t been a linear pattern, rather it was an incredible jump from 900 to 1700 in 2022 after a break of three years from competitive chess. I have played in the world-famous Marshall Chess Club for nearly a year. I am also a USCF-certified Tournament Director and I have been working with kids at tournaments.
My teaching experience has mainly been toward friends and I would love to expand it to other people. From those experiences teaching and learning myself, I have learned how to keep people engaged in learning, and how to make hard topics fun and less mundane.
